Application

Assessment
A two-hour in-person interview at our East Village studio. We get to know you beyond the surface — your humor, your quirks, your non-negotiables.
Style Consultation
Our team evaluates your personal presentation and offers guidance on wardrobe, grooming, and the energy you bring into a room.
Curated Introductions
We handpick matches from our network of 18,000+ vetted singles. Each introduction is thoughtful, intentional, and backed by our decade of experience.
Post-Date Coaching
After each introduction, we debrief with both parties. Honest feedback, recalibrated preferences, and continuous refinement of your search.
Ongoing Refinement
Your matchmaker remains your advocate throughout the process, adjusting strategy and deepening understanding as we learn what truly makes you light up.

Founder & Head Matchmaker
Amy Van Doran founded Modern Love Club in 2008 after recognizing that New York's most interesting, accomplished people were paradoxically the worst at finding love. A former music video director with a background in visual art, Amy brings an artist's eye to the science of compatibility.
Her approach is radically personal. She has interviewed over 18,000 singles, building a mental database that no algorithm can replicate. She notices the micro-expressions, the offhand comments, the energy shifts that reveal what someone truly needs in a partner.
The East Village studio — affectionately known as the "Love Museum" — doubles as a curated gallery space where art, vulnerability, and human connection intersect. It's a place where clients shed their armor and get honest about what they want.
